PolyVoid White

Description

PolyVoid White is a white polyester (mylar) tamper-evident label. Lift it and the word VOID appears twice — printed into the surface the label was stuck to, and left on the label that came away. The evidence exists on both halves, which is what separates it from a label that simply destroys itself.

Why evidence on both surfaces matters

A destructible label tells you something happened. A void-return label tells you where.

That distinction decides real cases. An asset turns up in the wrong department with no tag: was the tag removed, or did it never have one? A VOID pattern on the housing answers it. A sealed enclosure is returned by a contractor: was it opened? The seal surface answers it, without anyone needing to have been watching.

The evidence also persists. Fragments get swept up and disappear; a VOID pattern stays on the equipment until someone deliberately cleans it off, which means an inspector arriving weeks later can still see what happened.

Where PolyVoid is specified

It suits situations where you need to demonstrate integrity to a third party rather than simply deter interference internally.

Sealed enclosures and access panels, where the question is whether a unit has been opened since it was last certified as closed. Chain-of-custody handling, where an item passes between parties and each handover needs to be verifiable. Warranty and service sealing, where opening the case has consequences. Public-sector and institutional asset registers, where disposal and write-off have to be provable rather than asserted.

It also works as a straightforward asset tag wherever the register is audited and tag transfer between items would be a problem.

Barcodes and numbering

The white face gives a barcode good contrast, so PolyVoid scans reliably as part of a routine audit. Labels can carry serialized barcode numbering, human-readable numbers, custom text and your logo. Layout proofs are emailed for approval before production.

Choosing between the tamper-evident options

Three products in the range make removal apparent, and they differ in what remains afterwards.

PolyVoid leaves a VOID pattern on the asset and the label — evidence on both sides, and evidence that lasts.

PolyBreak destroys itself instead. A very aggressive solvent-based adhesive and destructible face mean the label breaks into fragments. Choose it when deterrence is the goal and nothing needs to be proved after the fact.

PolyCheck is a two-part construction leaving a distinctive checkerboard pattern. Choose it when you want visible tamper indication with a metallic finish.

If tag transfer is not a realistic risk in your environment, PolyAsset White is the simpler and cheaper specification.

Before you order

Void-return behaviour depends on the surface. The pattern transfers cleanly to smooth, rigid materials — painted metal, hard plastics, powder-coated enclosures — and less predictably to textured, porous or heavily contaminated surfaces. If the labels are going onto anything other than clean smooth stock, test first.

Request samples and lift one off the actual equipment. Ten minutes of testing tells you more than any specification sheet about whether the evidence will look the way you need it to.
