Don't have an available COM/Serial Port on your computer to connect the ROV Tethered Laser Scanner to? No Problem!

The ROV Tethered USB PnP Cable extends the connectibility of the ROV Tethered Laser Scanner by allowing it to connect directly into an available USB port on your computer and using just like a COM/Serial Port.

The ROV PnP Cable features two modes, changeable by a selector switch. Keyboard Mode enables you to Plug 'n' Play by scanning bar codes into any application without the need for additional software. Works with Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. VCOM Mode enables advanced bar code features within software applications running on Microsoft Windows e.g. AssetTrakker Pro for Windows.

Through the use of the ROV Tethered USB PnP Cable and software driver, a virtual COM/Serial Port can be created and assigned a COM Port number. This virtual COM Port is then accessed by the scanner via the Scanner Wedge program (which comes bundled with the ROV Tethered Scanner). The scanner can then be used as intended while connected through a USB port.

Please Note: The USB PnP Cable only works on Windows XP. It is currently not compatible with Windows Vista or Windows 7.
