Identification Code for Physical Distribution
A code that indicates the quantity of content products. The code is
1 digit for the Standard version(14-digits total),
and 2 digits for Extended version (16-digits total,
the first digit is a fixed 0, in order to let the code length
even)
In Store Marking
A bar code which is used internally with in a specific
logistics system. In store product such as fresh meat, fish, poultry etc.
are classified as in store marked products.
The flag numbers used for this type of marking are 20
- 29. This type of marking is also most often associated with NON-PLU items.
International Article Numbering Association EAN
Established in 1977, this was setup as the administrative organization
for the international common product code (EAN) for European countries
of free economies. Since its inception, many countries from around the
world have joined. In 1992, the Internation Article Numbering Association
changed its name to EAN International.
Item code
Is a 5-digit product code following the
maker code in the JAN symbology.
The maker can freely decide the item code.
