Decoder

A device that translates digital signals through the process of scanning a bar code , decoding it using the appropriate algorithm, and transmitting the data to the computer.

Delineator

A module bar inserted between each character for UPC Add-on version.

Digital

Using a binary code - discrete, non-continuous values - to represent information. Analogue information can be converted into a digital format.

Discrete

Discrete type is one of two bar code, code types.
